This black wooden swagger stick is used by members of the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment (LANCS), part of the King's Division and an infantry regiment of the line within the British Army. The swagger stick features the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment emblem on a silver metal ball top.
Swagger sticks are also commonly referred to as cane sticks. In the British Army and other military forces following Commonwealth traditions, commissioned officers of most infantry regiments formerly carried swagger sticks when on duty, whilst Warrant Officers and Senior NCOs carried pace sticks instead. This practice continues in some regiments, especially by Warrant Officers when in Barrack Dress.
