Description
This Defence Medal Medal Ribbon Slider is made from Cotton/Nylon on a metal slider with a width of 32mm. The Defence Medal was first awarded in 1939 and is a military award given to service personnel for three years' service at home, one years' service in a non-operational area or six months' service overseas in territories subjected to air attack or otherwise closely threatened. The medal ribbon has two broad green stripes either side of a broad central orange stripe. Two thin black stripes run through the centre of each of the green stripes.
Many of Wyedean's braids, tapes, cords, trims, ribbons and narrow fabrics are manufactured in-house in the UK, and have many varied applications with the military and other armed forces. These braids and laces can also be used in other areas such as craft, design or textile projects.
